(bis)

The results are in! I did the little home pregnancy test on Saturday morning, and it had a positive response to my pee. So apparently, I’m pregnant again.

I’m totally happy with this, of course, and grandly scared. I’ve had a bad case of the flu already – as previously stated – and am not sure how well that bodes for the embryo. I’m trying not to get my hopes up *too* high, while at the same time not being too cynical, or too overjoyed.

In brief, I’m hoping quietly, and I’m not letting nervosity get the best of me… most of the time. First visit to the doctor is scheduled for December 19: good thing holiday preparations, and the trip to Toronto, will make the time fly by.

Enfluenza, birthdays, books & Harry Potter

The flu! It caught me like a tennis racket going for the ball. Frank’s infected too, I’m sure. Now my ears are ringing, my temperature’s rising and my nose won’t stop dripping. Plus, my throat’s raw, which is how it all started.

To make it all better, I had almost no incoming mail today at work – which only makes me dread retaliation soon enough – and I’ll meet our new director tomorrow with a red nose. Good thing it’ll be friday. I like fridays.

Oh, and then comes saturday! Saturday is when I drive to Montréal to wish happy birthday to my little sister, with festivities that might include (but not be restricted to) a viewing of the new Harry Potter movie, and a visit to the Salon du livre de Montréal. There’s also one or two other things that might happen this weekend, but all those are unhatched plans and news, so they’ll have to be saved for later.

Meanwhile, happy birthday, Karine!

Simon Fraser from Brightweavings set up a Frappr map of the forum denizens, which is a cool gizmo. Frappr uses Google Maps, but doesn’t seem like a Google venture in any way that I see (think they’ll get be bought one day?) In any case, a visit is worth a thousand words… Have a look for yourself!
