Acer!

Guess what lucky me got for Christmas? Hint, hint: I’m typing on it.

No, it’s no keyboard, although it includes one. That’s right: Frank got me a shiny new – and my first – laptop computer! Specs are boring, but I have to brag anyway: it’s silver and it’s an Acer, with a nice AMD 1.6G processor. It’s got loads of RAM and a DVD burner, with wireless access (of course) and a roomy 80G hard drive. I love it!

‘Well, what did you get Frank?’ you ask. Erm. An electric razor.

Well, he needed one!! (Hum, imho.) No matter: I can’t be buying him new video cards, and hard drives, and X-Box’es every year. And I’ll share my laptop… sometimes. ;)

Hello again, doctor

First visit to the OB/GYN for the pregnancy today. Nothing much to report. She just asked a couple of questions to open her file for the new pregnancy, inquired if there was anything I wanted to note or ask, felt my belly and ordered the usual tests. I did those in the afternoon: blood and urine samples to check if everything’s in order. Note to self: keep getting appointments there in the morning, if at all possible, as there’s a lot less people and delays.

Next appointment is for the first ultrasound, January 11, 2006.

Toronto

I did a quick visit to Toronto this weekend. Tourism, you say? Well, not quite.

In fact, I hardly had the time to drop by the CN tower on the way to catch my train back (I’ll post pictures in the photo album). This weekend was a gathering of “denizens” from the forums on BrightWeavings.com – who turned out to be really great people. The activities were pretty simple – brunch, drinks, diner and a movie – which was perfect, as it let everyone mingle and chat.

For specifics, I’ll content myself with pointing to the related thread on the brightweavings forums, where many of the attendees have shared reports and comments. All I could really add are details about how I puked in the car on the way to the train, which contributed to my missing it (had to catch the next one). And who wants to hear about that, I ask?
