Heh.

BB St-Louis?

We’ve had some news yesterday evening at 8pm from our friends Éric and Geneviève. She had the same deal as me: induction at 7:30am, about a week overdue.

At Xavier’s birth, they had broken my waters at 3:30pm, and that had started the real pains (contractions before that were entirely bearable). And Xavier was born at 8:52pm.

It seems that they broke Ge’s waters around noon, I think (ouch) and she was still at 2cm by 8pm, poor thing. Accepting the epidural by then, which I can’t blame her for.

We’re still waiting on news, but let’s hope baby St-Louis is born by now, and that baby and mom are healthy (if not rested)!…

Bonne Fête Xavier

It is all going so fast, little Xavier is having his one month birthday today, and we almost did not see the time go. He is much more active now and like to watch everything around him. He also make small smiles now. Xavier went to his first “épluchette de blé d’inde”, it was his first full day activity outside the house.

Baby Stats :
Weight : 5 kilograms (11 pounds and half)
Height : 60 centimeters (24 inches)
Eyes : Still greyish
Hair : Dark brown / black, Starting to lose some in the forehead
Breastfeeding : Every 3-4 hours
Nights : No I dont do my nights yet (sorry mom and dad)

P.S. The video will be ready real soon promise – Frank ..

Courage

Our friend Geneviève (with Éric) was due to give birth 3 days ago. She just commented “Courage” to my last post regarding Xavier’s wakefulness, and I want to say “Courage” right back at her – you’re sure to see your cutie in less than a week, max! My best advice is to stay busy, and plan activities for the upcoming week anyway – you can always cancel any plans made. This way time passes more quickly.

The city baby that never sleeps

Xavier Of course, the only way I’m posting right now is that he does sleep sometimes – and any friend or family member of us who’s met him will believe otherwise, having seen him zzz away an afternoon (Xavier’s so sly) – but we’ll swear he spends whole evenings and the first half of any night just staring at everything, like a little weasel. It wouldn’t be so bad if he’d let us sleep meanwhile, but no such luck. After 10 minutes of staring at the same piece of wall/window/ceiling, he’ll get bored and start crying until we take him and show him something new.

Now, I know it sounds like I’m complaining : I’m not, I really want him to be stimulated by his environnement, and learn and develop… I just wish I had a way to make him sleep at night. Because afterwards he gets really tired, and will scream and scream of exhaustion until he drops out of energy (for a couple of minutes… then it begins again). Sigh.

On the other hand, those waking periods can be as delightful as they can be tough. He’s really fun to play with. I’m also happy to report he’s doing quite well. Loosing some of that cutesy hair of his, but still cute as a button. Speaking of which, new pictures are up in the photo album!
