Project Looking Through (Number One)

I wasn’t going to participate in Project Looking Through (Mark Will’s photo project… basically, everyone is posting images where we’re looking through something), but I came across this view and I couldn’t pass it up. So here’s my little contribution below.

Poo poo pee do

There was a theme this week for the Gélinas children. And not a cutesie one.

Orléane

I turned two months this week,
I had my shots,
and I went 9 days without pooping,
like the perfect little rose petal that I am.

Xavier

I turned my stomach this week,
but just the once,
and I went through 9 very uncomfortable diapers.
They called it a stomach flu.

I call it: Missing my milk. :(

The last crunch

Snow is at its ugliest right now. Crunchy, peppered, oozing lakes of dirty water…

It’s also going away. Which is the best thing about this white, brown and grey time of year.

Xavier and I went out to play this morning: he finally decided to help out with the shoveling (about time!). It was great fun.

Do do do do do… Dora

I have found my dream girl. Her name is Dora, she’s an explorer.

I see her in the morning on the télé.
I see her in my colouring book.
I read her adventures in magazines.
I assemble her picture on the fridge puzzle.
I play with her figurines at bath time.

And I don’t care that she’s wearing a pink shirt with orange shorts… Her big brown eyes are all that matter.

Dora

When you’re smiling…

They do say that payback for all those sleepless hours comes in the form of a little smile. Well, Orléane started earning her keep this week, and her tally was quickly erased.

She has started cooing as well – cute! – and she is also more alert and observant. She has longer periods awake where we can play with her, chatting, smiling, practicing eye focus, turning her head around and spending some time on her tummy.
