Hey M. Officially: nice to hear from you again.

Yeah, the tube was really... odd. It was to me, anyway. It ran over my arm, and I felt my body warmth running inside the tube. It made me think of maternal milk, which is another warm body fluid I've poured off in the past.

I'll readily admit Simon is awesome for giving regularly, though, because the needle did sting a bit, and it messed with my blood pressure for the next day a tad.

The feeling I got after giving, though, was really great. I think endorphins were involved. It confirms to me that I should be doing charity work -- I just need to find which type of charity work I'd appreciate doing. I might trade my dance classes for that, if I find something interesting next year. It will probably be included in my resolutions for 2010...!

When I can keep my daughter away from the faucet...we do pretty good at conserving water. Been meaning to take a woodworking class at the community college, but haven't quite got around to it yet. On the blood thing though...I'm horrible. My wife was once a religious donor. Blood, plasma, you name it. I, on the other hand get a little weirded out by the idea of blood in tubes. Needles...fine. Blood, ok. Blood flowing through plastic tubes...[shivers]. That said, I've been working up my nerve of late. Maybe a "by the end of the year" goal is a good idea. I'd definitely feel better about myself if I were giving in this way. But don't tell Simon I said that...he'd just give me another round of how awesome he is for giving so regularly ;)

And congrats on your so many of your 2009 goals met.

Wow, thanks! lol

I'm still psyched, though once I got up and ran up the stairs after typing that blog entry, I started feeling like my blood pressure wasn't in check (about 2 hrs after the draw). It's just a light symptom, though, and it faded through today -- I just felt it when I used the stairs and such.

The blood drive is still going on tonight, and Frank has decided to go donate, too. (He should have been back already... Hm, maybe they were packed.)

We are mostly water, so giving blood should count towards the water goal :)
