Circus of the Sun under the rain

This past weekend was the start of automn! On Saturday we drove all the way to my aunt’s cabin (soon-to-be home… they’re moving up there), for a surprise farewell to my cousin who’s packing up for Europe for a couple of months. Have fun, M!

Frank’s parents (thank you, thank you!) had obtained the whole family tickets for one of Trois-Rivières’s 375th anniversary shows on Sunday evening, so we went. The show was great, despite the threat of rain — we made through most of it with just a few drops; only at the last number/song did it start pouring in earnest. But it was worth it: bands, singers, orchestras, fireworks, pyrotechnics… and the Cirque du Soleil!!

We loved the Cirque — I think it was our first real introduction to it (except maybe on TV once), and we are definitely planning to go if we visit Vegas (as we are thinking of for next year).

These guys were amazing. Imagine holding that pose for a couple of seconds!

PS. Still in love with the new camera, and our zoom lens!! Had fun with it at the show.
